PicCollage in the Classroom
PicCollage is a free app that has everything you need to make collages with your photos. PicCollage is also one of the most versatile apps to use in the classroom. It can be used in ANY content area and at EVERY grade level! Once students get instructions on how to use the app, the possibilities for classroom projects are endless!
Step 2: Click to use a Template or start a new freestyle collage. PicCollage provides a variety of different templates to match the theme of your project.
Step 3: Choose a layout. You can select a layout that will provide a space for each of your pictures and text or you can add photos and arrange them however you choose.
Step 4: Tap to add photos! Students can select pictures from their Photos, Facebook, Instagram or open the Camera to take photos straight from the app. Students can then easily manipulate the images’ size and position.
Step 5: Click to add text, photos from the web, stickers and even change the background.
Step 6: Save your collage straight to your Camera Roll and export it from there. PicCollage can also be used in app-smashing. Collages can be used with Thinglink or Aurasma to make interactive posters.
The pictures below are six ways to use PicCollage in the classroom.
Identifying and naming the value of coins |
Students took a picture of each coin and inserted the pictures it into a collage. Next, they added text with the name and value of each coin. Students added stickers at the end of the lesson just for fun!
These examples are just a few ways to use PicCollage in the classroom, but the possibilities really are ENDLESS!
